Da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance artist who accomplished great things in his time. He worked everywhere from Rome to Venice and is often described as very curious. His ideas and concepts were generally well ahead of his time, and even now we are only beginning to really understand them.
MOS.org wrote the following about the interesting and creative individual:
Although Leonardo da Vinci is best known as an artist, his work as a scientist and inventor makes him a true Renaissance man. He served as a model by applying the scientific method to all aspects of life, including art and music. He was one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance but left only a handful of finished paintings.
